At 7 am on 10 October 2021, RCSS/SSA patrol troops near Nam Book bridge between Tunglao and Pangboi villages investigated and arrested two drug traffickers, Loong Win age 40 and his wife Nang Mi age 38 of Kyawkku village, Kyawkku village track of Lawkzawk township along with WY 30,015 tablets with the label (37), 92,400 kyats, 2 mobile phones, one vehicle – NISSAN SHN 3P-4545 and drug related items.
Upon investigation, the couple told the RCSS/SSA authority that the methamphetamines were sent to Namlan town in person by a man in Keshi Township and they would then resell it around Kyawkku, Lawkzawk and Nawngkio.
On 23 August 2021, RCSS/SSA patrol troops in one of its controlled areas in Laikha Township also arrested one drug trafficker and seized 5 packages of methamphetamine containing 70,000 pills and a vehicle.
The packages of methamphetamines with the label (37) on them are seen to be the same type of drug seized by the CCDAC at the entrance to Nawngkio Town from Lashio and one seized on the Loikaw-Hsihseng highway in Loikaw.
